Day 9 E-mail

day9_southeast_corner.jpgCabinet, drywall, and electrical activity yesterday.  Koffel guys once again descended like locusts and got busy.

Most visible, of course, is the new range.  It was brought into the room so the electrician could run wires from it to the electric service in the basement.

The drawer base I mentioned yesterday was moved, and replaced by a cabinet basr (on the left end of the cabinets in this picture).

day9_southwest_corner.jpgNew in this picture are the moved drawer base, the sink base (under the window), and the right end cabinet base.

The opening for the kickplate heater was cut into the sinkbase, and the drywall was added around the window.

day9_corner_cabinet_interior.jpgAs promised, for those who are entirely too interested in this process, here is a picture of the inside of one of the corner lazy susan corner cabinets.

day9_northwall_square_hole.jpgThe north wall of the kitchen.  That hole where they removed the old clock outlet was patched.

day9_view_from_door_1.jpgAnd, for the heck of it, a shot of the view one gets of the kitchen from the doorway.

The guy who was here the longest yesterday, and whose work shows the least, was the electrician.  I sit here working on my computer while the renovation is being done, and I can hear this guy upstairs, and in the kitchen, and in the nether regions of the basement,  By fishing wires through walls that are resisting him and finding ways to get at areas of the house I didn't even know existed, this guy is quietly making everything in the kitchen work, and is bringing it up to code.  I haven't mentioned him much, but I know he's there and I appreciate him.
